The activities of Madaster Foundation can be grouped into 3 areas

Governance & strategy

  • Facilitate realization of the Material Passport concept through funding of the initial data repository development and governance framework
  • Defining the 5 year strategic plan
  • Confirming the budget and annual financial plan
  • Ensure public availability of data being gathered and stored for the purpose of the creation of Material Passports

Communication & representation

  • Document and maintain guiding principles with respect to gathering, storage and modelling of architectural and financial data for the creation of Material Passports
  • Represent the Foundation in bodies that represent the real estate sector, e.g. in entities that set industry standards

Management & administration

  • Stimulate usage of Material Passport concept towards industry standards like BREEAM
  • Define and execute communication plan
  • Set up and manage yearly budget

The Foundation is a nonprofit organisation under Dutch law (“Stichting”) and as such in the process of acquiring a formal status (“ANBI-status”) of the Dutch Tax authorities. The official name of the Foundation is “Stichting Madaster Foundation”.
